Bird Mobile launches two new models

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Gadgets Nepal has introduced two new models of Birds mobile in the market.



According to the company, the newly launched sets -- V200 (Peacock) and K3 (Sparrow) - have received Type Approval Certificate (TAC) from Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA). The telecom sector regulator grants TAC to handsets that meet its regulatory, technical and safety requirements.[break]



“We have launched two low-end sets in the market after receiving TAC from the telecom sector regulator,” said Krishna Kumar Shah, business development manager of Gadgets Nepal.







NTA on June 22 issued a notice, asking companies to compulsorily get type approval for different Customer Premises Radio Telecommunication Equipments from NTA before importing and selling in Nepal.



V 200 Peacock is a full touch slim multimedia model. “As the touchscreen of this mobile is very smooth, middle class customers looking for cheaper touchscreen phone will be able to make their wish true with this phone,” said Shah.



The set has various features like music players, one touch key , Bluetooth, FM radio, 2 mega pixels camera, MP3 player, video recording, and can use Yahoo, MSN, Facebook and Twitter easily with the pre-installed icons. It supports external memory up to 16 GB. The company has priced the phone at Rs 4,000. Gadgets Nepal is giving 1GB memory card free with the phone.



Similarly, K3 is also a multimedia phone that supports external memory card up to 4 GB. According to the company, the model is specially targeted towards middle class customers.



The mobile phone has various features such as dual SIM, MP3, MP4, video player and camera among others. The phone has metallic body and is available in four different colors. It is available in the market at Rs 2,600.



Besides these new sets, the company has also received the TAC for four other models: K2+, K103, V100 and K6. “These phones will enter the market very soon,” said Shah.



Gadgets Nepal has been selling mobile sets priced between Rs 2,000 to Rs 8,000. It has 32 service centers across the country. The company provides 13 months warranty on sets and six months warrant on charger and battery.
