The new outlet at Patan will spread over an area of around 3,500 sq feet. “Bigmart has been always been known for quality foods and grocery products. The new outlet at Patan will have a separate compartment for meat products,” said Antim Ranjit, marketing and branding manager at Mega Mart.
With the outlet in Patan, Ranjit said Mega Mart is targeting to cater to foreigners, expatriates and diplomats living in and around Patan. “We will put on our best effort to make sure that the store becomes successful in catering to their needs,” said Ranjit.

The Bigmart outlet at Patan will also have an ATM Lounge and food stalls in thela (cart) concept.
Mega Mart is planning to open Bigmart stores in six more places within the capital within 2012. “Outlets at Halchowk, Samakhusi, Baneshwar and Ravi Bhawan will be operational before Tihar (November),” Ranjit said, adding that they were searching for location for two outlets.
Officials of Mega Mart said overwhelming response from customers encouraged them to expand Bigmart outlets in different parts of the capital.
“In just three years, Bigmart has become the most trusted brand in the local market. Footfall at our outlets has increased by around 50 percent in recent times,” Ranjit said, adding, “We are serving around 1,200 to 1,500 shoppers a day.”
Ranjit further added that Mega Mart has plans to expand Bigmart outlets outside the capital too.
Mega Mart opened first Bigmart outlet in City Center, Kamal Pokharai three years ago. It opened second Bigmart outlet in Lazimpat last year.
