Basketball players get scholarship<br/>C Division clubs select representatives

KATHMANDU, July 17: Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) has provided scholarship to 20 men and 10 women basketball players. The players were provided scholarship by Xaviers´ Int´l College, Prime College and Trinity college for 10+2 studies. The association has organized closed door camp training for the players for three months from April to June. [break]



Altogether, 130 players including 90 men and 40 women attended the camp. The best among them were selected for the scholarship, informed Lama Tendi Sherpa, the president of NeBA at a press meet.



Shiva Karmacharya, Seema Karki, Binu Gurung, Meena Chand, Sagar Thapa, Asutosh Pandey, Rohit Maharjan, Kusal Sony and Sagar Shrestha are the ones to get scholarship in the Xaviers´ Int´l College. Likewise, Sriti Maharjan, Nirmaya Waiba, Smriti Silwal, Siddhartha Maharjan, Rajiv Thapa, Karan Maharjan, Manisraj Upadhya, Narendra Maharjan and Ritesh Jang Thapa got the scholarships to study at Trinity College.



Those who won scholarship at Prime College are Viditratna Tamrakar, Sorajman, Khem Waiba, Nabin Pulami,Nihal Joshi, Rosin Gurung, Diwasri Malla and Rajju Maharjan.



Meanwhile, the NeBA also honored Pasang Bhote, who took the association´s flag to the Mount Everest on May 19.





C Division clubs select representatives



KATHMANDU, July 17: The C Division clubs have elected three members on Friday to represent the clubs in the forthcoming All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) general assembly to be held on September 7.



Nine C Division football clubs unanimously elected Nava Jyoti Youth Club, Satdobato Youth Club and Shree Kumari Youth Club as their representatives for the ANFA election.





Wushu coaching and referee training begins



KATHMANDU, July 17: The Third National Wushu Trainers´ and Referees´ Seminar and Seventh National Wushu Diploma Test Seminar started at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday. Sports Council member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha inaugurated the 10-day seminar organized by Nepal Wushu Association.



Thirty-five trainers and referees from across the country are participating in the seminar. The seminar will end on July 25.
