“Printing for the direct elections has reached its final stage. Out of a total of 20.3 million direct ballots, only five lakh remained, which we will complete today. We began with a 42-day schedule, and we are finishing in just 40 days,” he added.
He noted that after printing concludes today, all ballots will be packed and dispatched to the remaining districts by tomorrow.
Paudel highlighted that the centre has been printing 1.3 to 1.5 million ballots daily, ahead of the original target. Of the printed ballots, 1 million sample ballots have already been delivered to various locations by the Election Commission. Printing and packing of 2.83 million proportional ballots have also been completed, with district-level distribution now underway.
He confirmed that all ballots have already reached Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the remaining regions are expected to receive them by February 24.
