Automobile journos welcome NADA's new team

KATMANDU, July 8: Journalists Association for Automobile and Mobility (JAAM) on Monday organized a program in honor of the newly formed executive committee of Nepal Automobile Dealers´ Association (NADA). [break]



Speaking on the occasion, Ujawal Jung Shah, president of JAAM, praised NADA´s growing interest on road safety and emphasized the role of private sector for country´s development. “Nepal is passing through a transitional phase. Entrepreneurs should come forward and lead development works,” said Shah.



Shekhar Golchha, newly elected president of NADA, said focus should be laid on increasing people´s access to comfortable transport. “Prices of vehicles are higher in Nepal compared to other countries. If vehicles are made affordable to general public, it can contribute a lot to national economy,” he added.

Golchha also urged the government to keep automobile sector in priority in the upcoming budget.



Meanwhile, NADA handed over a check for Rs 35,000 to JAAM as a support for ´Nepal Yatra´ - a three-month road safety program being organized by JAMM.

The program will kick off on Wednesday.
