The amount was sponsored by Diki Archery and Sports and Menthang Organic Apple Farm. Prem had won bronze in men's individual recurve of SAG held in Shillong from February 6 to 16. He had overcome Sri Lankan player 6-0 to become first Nepali player to win individual medal in archery.

Speaking on the event, Member Secretary Bista said that it was a matter of pride that the respective associations were rewarding players. "Felicitating medalists on behalf of government has been delayed, since it needs to go through procedure," said Bista, adding that the government has already made a decision to reward players.
