KATHMANDU, May 12: Association of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (ANIJ) on Wednesday demanded extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA) term that expires on May 28.

Submitting a 10-point memorandum passed by its fourth national convention to CA Chairman Nembang, the ANIJ Chairman Mohan Singh Lama said it was imperative to extend CA term in order to safeguard the achievements of Jana Aandolan II.

ANIJ has asked the CA to ensure state restructuring on the basis of ethnicity, linguistic, cultural and regional grounds and guarantee secularism and federal state structure as provisioned in the interim constitution.
