KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepal Police Club´s playmaker Ananta Thapa is going to Darfur, Sudan, as an observer on a UN mission next month. That means he will not be playing professional football for a year. [break]

When myrepublica.com got talking to Thapa about what his career prospects would be on his return, Thapa said that since his first love was football, he would try to continue his footballing career. But he added that everything would depend upon his fitness level and the opportunities available.

But on the basis of the career he´s had and because his age, it can be assumed that it will be hard for him to get back into the first-eleven team after abstaining from competitive football for one whole year. Police coach Birat Krishna Shrestha too felt that Thapa´s departure might signal an end to his Police-football days.
