KAPILBASTU: An agreement has been made to stop the road construction carried out by the Indian side in the no-man´s-land, infringing the international law. The Indian side had started constructing a road near Chaukarchauda point without taking agreement from the Nepali side.

Officials of the both countries have agreed to stop the road construction after the Nepali side protested against the construction works, said Administrative Officer at the District Administration Office, Meghnath Pandey. [break]

Nepalis residing at the bordering area said that the Indian contractor had constructed the road passing through the border pillar No. 549.

However, a meeting of officials of the both the countries would be held next week to take final decision on the road construction.
