Adhikari secures UML CC berth

KATHMANDU, March 29: The ongoing central committee meeting of CPN-UML has announced Kashinath Adhikari as winner in the party central committee. The meeting took the decision while dwelling on an application filed by Adhikari, who was declared loser despite having scored more votes than his rival during the party’s national convention in February in Butwal.



The meeting said Adhikari was not declared winner due to some technical problems in the election process.



The meeting formed a committee under the coordination of party chairman Jhala Nath Khanal to give final shape to the political paper, endorsed by party national convention, and submit it in the meeting.



Other members in the committee are Ashok Kumar Rai, Yubaraj Gyawali, Shankar Pokharel, Raghu Pant, Pradip Gyawali, Urmila Aryal, Rajendra Shrestha, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Ramchandra Jha and Gangalal Tuladhar.



The meeting also formed a taskforce headed by party standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari to prepare an assessment report of the Butwal convention within the next two months.



On the issue of mysterious ballot box found near the convention site, the meeting formed a probe committee headed by Rajendra Pandey to prepare a report within the next one month. Other members in the committee are Guru Baral, Yogesh Bhattarai, Dr Bijaya Poudel, Dharma Prasad Sah, Agni Kharel, Khagaraj Adhikari, Karna Bahadur Thapa and Mamata Giri.
