Sattya Media Arts Collective will be organizing a workshop on editorial and opinion writing on September 3 and 4 from 11am to 3pm at Sattya Media Arts Collective in Jawalakhel.[break]
They will provide training on writing OP-EDs. It will cover various skills, such as selecting appropriate topics, research methods, structuring of one’s ideas, and also formulating them while creating a piece of writing.
The participants will also have a chance to get their work published in V.E.N.T! Zine.
The instructor for the event, Kate Walton, is a writer, documentary and live music photographer and a part-time student of Human Rights.
“This workshop will be a good platform for people who work with INGOs or activism-related fields. It doesn’t matter if the interested candidates are not journalism students,” said Kate. “We’re expecting to train around 10-15 participants,” she added.
Fee for the workshop is Rs 1,000 that will be collected before the commencement of the seminar. Application forms are available at http://sattya.org/2011/08/opinionated/
