KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Banking is the business activity of accepting and safeguarding money owned by other individuals and entities, and then lending out this money in order to earn a profit.

With a number of colleges offering commerce and business studies and the number of banks emerging, many students these days are opting to get into the field of banking.

According to Bhaskar Mani Gnawali, executive director at Nepal Rastra Bank, for those students on the look out of starting their career in this field, the first thing that they should have is commitment and hard work.

Gnawali adds, it is easier for people with economics and commerce background to get into this field but that’s not the only option.

Since there are many people from the background of history and medicine also doing well in this sector, he believes that it is the sheer interest and dedication that matters.

Apart from the educational background, this sector allows many opportunities to learn on the job and add to an individual’s capability through various mid career trainings that can be taken. One such organization in Kathmandu that provides such trainings is KFA.

It, recently, organized four different training programs which offered Credit Management Course and exclusive banking course.

KFA has been running various Banking and Insurance related courses for the last 11 years. KFA also has academic wing which is running MBA & BBA programs.
