491 killed in Eastern Region after CPA: INSEC

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 21: Killings continued after the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) between the government and the UCPN (Maoist), according to INSEC.



According to a report publicised by INSEC on the occasion of World Peace Day, 491 people were killed after the peace accord in the Eastern Development Region.



The report said that 43 were killed from the government side, 12 persons were killed from the Maoist side and 436 from others.



It said that 795 persons were abducted in this period. Of them 571 were abducted by Maoists. During the time, 936 have been threatened with lives.
