3 Nepalis killed in road accident in Qatar

KHOTANG, June 20: Three Nepali workers died and 13 others were injured in a microbus-van accident in Qatar on Tuesday evening.



The deceased are Brijanath Pandit, Krishna Rajbanshi and Pashpal Dhamala, whose address in Nepal has not been ascertained. The deceased are aged between 35-40.



A local Peninsula Daily stated that the accident took place when the micro-van driver lost control after a tire of the micro-van punctured at Salba Road while it was returning to Sanaiya-based camp carrying workers, said Narayan Basnet, General Secretary of the Khotang Service Society, Doha, Qatar.



The injured are undergoing treatment at Hamad Hospital.Of the injured, condition of five Nepalese and one Egyptian driver is critical.



Six Nepalese have been discharged after minor treatment, said Basnet. However, the Nepali Embassy in Qatar is unaware about the accident that took place on Tuesday evening, it is learnt.
