24 students in Kavre die in earthquake

BANEPA, May 8: A total of 24 students have been confirmed dead from devastations brought by the April 25 earthquake in Kavrepalanchowk district. Fifty-nine schools were completely damaged, according to the District Education Office Kavrepalanchowk.

The deceased have been identified as Hiralal Lama (Grade VI- Devitar Lower Secondary School), Sonia Lama (Grade 1- Mahakali Secondary School Baluwapati), Partima Tripathi ( Grade IV- Janajwoti Secondary School, Mechchhe), Aryan Shrestha ( Grade II- Janata Higher Secondary School ).


Similarly, other victims are Ausha Kharel (grade V- Sharada Higher Secondary School Phalate), Rabina Khanti and Krishnamaya Pathak ( Grade X- Setidevi Secondary School Saping), Sabina Shrestha ( Grade 2- Sarbabijaya Primary School), , Bhawani Parajuli ( Grade XII –Bagdevi Higher Secondary School), Rajani Tamang ( Grade 2 Bagdevi Higher Secondary School), Deepak Thakuri of the same school, Nani Shrestha ( Jaya Saraswoti School), Sirjana Tamang (Kalika Lower Secondary School), a student with Thakuri Surname ( Namuma Primary School ), Manisha Sapkota( Chandrawati Primary Secondary School ), Dipsan Shrestha ( Baghbhairav Primary School) and Anusha Basnent ( Laligurans English School).

Likewise, Lal Bahadur Moktan, Ram Bahadur Moktan, Bimala Moktan, one student with Moktan surname, and Binod Tingring of Janakalyan Lower Secondary School have also lost their lives to the disaster. This number is expected to go up, it is learnt. RSS
