The deceased are identified as car driver Druba Karki, 44, of Kavre, Mahadevsthan and passenger Lal Kumari Pokharel, 37, aka Swastika of Udayapur, Katari-2.
The accident took place as a bus, Na 4 Kha 5696, headed for Pathlaiya from Hetauda and a car, Ba 3 Cha 8097, coming from the opposite direction collided head-on at Adabar along the East-West Highway at 5 pm today.
Lal Kumari Pokharel alias Swostika is the former president of Free Students Union at Padma Kanya Campus, Bagbazaar, Kathmandu. She died on the spot.
