KATHMANDU, March 24: Nirvana Chaudhary, the managing director of Chaudhary Group and son of Nepali Congress MP Binod Chaudhary, has labeled the Basbari land issue as a "farce" and stated that the court will handle it. Binod Chaudhary is also the Chairman of Chaudhary Group.

The managing director shared a lengthy statement on social networking site X (Twitter) on Saturday, remarking that the ongoing spectacle surrounding the Bansbari land is a political ploy and emphasized that the court will investigate the matter.

"I refrain from further commentary on the ongoing farce concerning the Bansbari land," he wrote. "The court will adjudicate. My concern is the potential ramifications of actions pursued to satisfy current political interests. We must all reflect on where this will lead our nation."

He raised questions about the current state of the country, expressing concern for its interests and urging the youth to introspect. He posed questions regarding whether the youth wish to participate in self-serving political theatrics or aim to understand reality and contribute meaningfully to the country's progress.

Regarding economic prospects, he questioned if the nation's path to economic prosperity would be determined by such political circumstances, citing the example of the Tata Group's success in India over 180 years and the Chaudhary family's 150-year legacy in Nepal, spanning six generations.

Chaudhary Group claims to contribute around two percent of Nepal's total revenue, being the largest employer in the country, and expanding Nepali representation on the global stage through its business ventures beyond Nepal.

"We are unwavering in our dedication to Nepal's economic advancement," he stated. "During times of adversity, we find immense satisfaction in our selfless service, whether during earthquakes, COVID-19 crises, or emergencies, demonstrating our credibility and track record. Institutions like Harvard Business School, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Tata have chosen to collaborate with us due to our standing."

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) of Nepal Police is investigating the alleged illegal acquisition of 10 ropani land of the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory in Kathmandu in the name of Chaudhary Group.

Arun Chaudhary, MP Chaudhary's brother, was previously detained by CIB for inquiry into the land associated with Chandbagh Residency School owned by the Chaudhary family. Following Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane's directives, MP Chaudhary's statement was also taken this week.

Additionally, the government has taken ownership of the aforementioned land in the state's name, prompting Chaudhary to release his latest statement on the matter.
