The meeting with President Yadav took place in the wake of the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC)'s revision on the initial draft of the new constitution.
Speaking with the journalists following the meeting with the President, CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai shared that they had been to the President's official residence to share information on the latest progress on the constitution writing as information to this was sought by the President.
"President Yadav was happy as we informed him about the latest development regarding the constitution writing," said Bhattarai, adding that President expressed his best wishes for the quick delivery of the new constitution.
President Yadav wished that top leaders of major political parties completed the constitution drafting process soon by incorporating the sentiment of all.
On the occasion, top leaders of major political parties apprised the President of the progress on the constitution writing.
The President has a wish that the new constitution incorporated the aspirations of all and brought a durable peace in the country. He urged the political parties to move ahead accordingly, added Bhattarai.
The President was informed that the political parties held discussion on disputed issues, and would possibly reach an agreement by Sunday. They had committed themselves to delivering the new constitution by finalizing the necessary processes at the earliest.
