DANG, May 7: Nepali Congress (NC) central working committee (CWC) member Gagan Thapa on Tuesday urged his party President Sushil Koirala to stop Lokman Singh Karki from becoming the chief of Commission of Investigation of Abuse Authority (CIAA) for the sake of pride of the party.

Speaking at a press conference organized by district chapter of Nepal Press Union here, Thapa also warned that the image of president as well as the party would be jeopardized if Karki’s appointment as CIAA head was not intervened immediately.[break]

“I would like to urge party President Koirala from here to take a bold step of withholding NC’s earlier decision to support Kaki as CIAA head, otherwise, the party’s image would be tarnished,” Thapa argued.

He also urged Koirala to make such an environment so that party workers like him could participate in politics with head held high, by withdrawing his support to Karki’s appointment as CIAA head.

Thapa added that it was party President Koirala that could overturn the decision as the decision was taken by him.

On the occasion, Thapa reiterated that he would contest next election against UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the upcoming election.
