Govt urges India to open sluices of Saptakoshi and Laxmanpur barrages

KATHMANDU, August 12: Government has urged Indian government to open the sluices of Sapktakoshi and Laxmanpur barrages as water flow in the rivers has reached dangerously high due to heavy rainfall since Friday.

ITAHARI, July 26: The water level in the Saptakoshi River has reached 270, 200 cusecs, the highest for the year. With the water level increasing, 35 of the 56 sluices of the Saptakooshi barrage have been opened.
