RUPANDEHI, Nov 17: Adhikari Vegetable Farm of Suddhodhan Rural Municipality-3 of Rupandehi had got a grant of Rs 400,000 from the government for commercial vegetable farming. The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative had provided the grant, on condition that the farmer would contribute equal amount, for vegetable farming.
RUPANDEHI, Nov 10: Rupandehi, Kapilbastu and Nawalparasi have given top priority to construction of concrete bridges. The three districts have already completed five such bridges while 51 are under construction. According to the office of the road division, Butwal, the bridges have been designed to widen the road network in the villages and towns. Among the three districts, most of the bridges are being built in Rupandehi. The development has quite elated the locals, who are highly suspicious about timely completion of other projects.
BHAIRAHAWA, Oct 20: Like other places of the country, the southern district of Rupandehi used to be dependent on India for marigold flowers during festivals and celebrations, until few years ago. But with the expansion of flower farms in the district in the recent years, flower import from India has decreased. BHAIRHAWA, July 31: Eighteen Nepalis in Rupandehi district renounced their citizenship in the last fiscal year 2018/19. According to the acting CDO of Rupandehi, Bharat Kumar Sharma, they gave up Nepali citizenship in order to acquire the citizenship of other countries.

BUTWAL, Dec 5: An enraged group of locals vandalized the casino of the Tiger Palace Resort, a five-star hotel, at Kotihawa in Rupandehi at 8 pm on Saturday after the hotel management allegedly tried to fire some of its local employees without prior notice. The hotel management has filed a complaint at the District Administrative Office (DAO) to investigate into the vandalism claiming that it suffered property losses worth Rs 2 million.
BUTWAL, Dec 5: Four months ago, existing tourism offices in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi district and Nepalgunj of Banke district were dissolved and the responsibility of handling the local tourism businesses was given to the provincial government. However, the provincial government is yet to establish any entity or mechanism to facilitate tourism-based businesses.
BHAIRAHAWA, Sept 25: In the past women used to initiate for divorce more than men did. However, with the new law in practice, a number of men seeking divorce have increased suddenly. Against the average 40 to 45 divorce appeals filed per month in the past, this month the volume of such appeals reached 74 the district court of Rupandehi during the month of Bhadra. Experts ascribe the sudden surge to the newly enacted law.
