CHITWAN, Feb 6: Eleven rhinos have been found dead in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and surrounding areas in the current Fiscal Year (FY). Of these, two were killed by poachers while nine died due to natural causes, said Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the CNP Information Officer.
CHITWAN, July 6: Three people have been arrested for electrocuting two rhinos. The two rhinos were killed by electrocution on the banks of the Narayani River in Sitapur, Madhyabindu Municipality-2, Nawalpur on January 20. The three people who were arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on May 26 on the charge of killing the rhinos were made public by the Chitwan National Park Office, Kasara, on Wednesday.
CHITWAN, May 4: A total of 220 rhinos died in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and its vicinity in the past eight years. The CNP shared that among the casualties, 64 rhinos died of aging and falling off cliff; and 19 died in morass and floods.
CHITWAN, April 18: Altogether 30 rhinos have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) and adjoining area in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Of them, 26 died of natural causes while four were killed by poachers.
A total of 39 rhinos died in the current fiscal year due to some preventable and natural causes and five of them in the recent past two months. This is the highest number of rhino's death from natural causes in a year in the country's history after the armed conflict in the country when poachers had killed 37 rhinos in 2058 BS.

KATHMAND, July 12: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today handed a couple of rhino named Bhadra (male) and Rupasi (female) to Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong amid a programme in the Capital. Nepal gifted the rhinos as per the government's decision made some two years ago. Of the two couples of rhinos to be gifted to China, another will be handed within next one month.
KATHMANDU, July 4: The Government of Nepal is all set to gift two pairs of rhinos to China. If things go as planned, two rhinos- Bhadra and Rupasi- will be flown to the northern neighbor on July 12 while the other two will be sent to China in the next fiscal year. The four rhinos are kept in separate pits at the eastern sector office of Chitwan National Park (CNP) in Sauraha since the last two months.
CHITWAN, May 4: Chitwan National Park has completed capturing all four rhinos that are to be gifted to the northern neighbor China. The park had already captured three one-horned rhinos. The fourth, a female rhino, was captured from the western area of the national park on Thursday at around 11:15 am.

Upon request of the Chinese government, the government had decided to present two pairs of rhinos to China two years ago.
CHITWAN, April 22: In view of the rising deaths of rhinoceros, the Department of National Park has launched study and investigation. Since 1998, the Chitwan National Park alone witnessed the untimely death of as many as 269 rhinoceros. The rate of the death has increased in the recent years.

Both teams, Lalitpur and Pokhara will once again lock horns in the eliminator tomorrow. Kathmandu Kings XI and Chitwan Tigers are eliminated from the tournament.
After being 2 for 68 at halfway mark, Pokhara Rhinos collapsed to 108 all out in the 19th over. Rhinos lost last eight wickets for 40 runs. It was an all-round bowling effort from Bhairahawa Gladiators bowlers as Dipesh Shrestha, skipper Sharad Vesawkar, and Krishna Karki picked up two wickets each.
KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Peshawar opener Israrullah notched up six sixes in his blistering innings of 61 runs from 52 deliveries to give Pokhara Rhinos first win of the tournament by 10 wickets. He had also taken four wickets earlier in the match.
