Kazakhstan government resigns after violent protests over fuel price

ALMATY, Jan 5: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev accepted the government's resignation on Wednesday, his office said, after a fuel price increase in the oil-rich Central Asian country triggered protests in which nearly 100 police were injured.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoCSCP) on Tuesday slapped a cash fine of Rs 300,000 each against two edible oil producers on charge of raising the prices of their product artificially.
