KATHMANDU, September 3: The decision of the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government to form a task force to see whether or not the Chinese side has encroached upon Nepali territory in the Namkha area of Humla district has courted controversies across political circles in Nepal.
China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. People from both the countries have shared connectivity, mutual benefit and exchanges along the border areas since ancient times. The magnificent and holy Mount Zhumulangma has witnessed the long history of exchanges between the two countries, and the vast Himalayas have become the bond of China-Nepal friendship. In 1955, China and Nepal established diplomatic relations, which started a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations and injected new impetus into border cooperation between the two countries.
The inclusion of Kalapani land in the new official political map of India followed President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Mamallapuram of India for an informal summit meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October, 2019.
SINDHUPALCHOWK, April 29: The government has begun internal preparations to bring the Tatopani trade route along Nepal-China into operation from mid-June. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has stated that the trade route will coming into operation once the Chinese government hands over Larcha Dry Port to Nepal.
KATHMANDU, April 26: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday said that the development of ‘Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network’ including Nepal-China Cross-Border Railway will boost connectivity not only between Nepal and China but other countries in the region.

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: The National Railway Authority of China has submitted its preliminary study report of the Kerung-Kathmandu Railway to the government of Nepal on Monday, paving the way to furthering construction process of the Railway expected to increase connectivity and accessibility between Nepal and China.
