Fair-price shops to run from Sunday

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The government is preparing to operate fair-price shops from Sunday to facilitate the general public during the upcoming festivals of Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath.

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: During the festive season, fair price shops, which are operated with the aim of controlling the prices of daily consumables and providing consumer goods at concessional rates, have attracted consumers to a greater extent.

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The government has started operating nearly three dozen fair price shops in 38 districts from Saturday with the aim of giving respite to consumers during the upcoming festivals.

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: The government-owned Food Management and Trade Company (FMTC) will operate fair price shops at 43 locations from tomorrow. The FMTC will operate the shops at 43 locations in 39 districts where it has branch offices.

KATHMANDU, April 6: It seems that the government has put its plan to operate fair price shops for ensuring smooth supplies of daily essential amid the lockdown enforced to contain the spread of COVID-19 on the backburner.
