DOLAKHA, August 21:Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Maheshwar Neupane reached at the project site of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project on Friday afternoon, following news reports that various groups including the local administration were obstructing the foreign contractor of the project from returning home.

KATHMANDU, August 20: The Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project has connected 456 MW of electricity generated from all its six units to the national transmission line from August 17. Chief Executive Officer of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Company Limited, Bigyan Raj Shrestha, said that the electricity generated from all the six units of the project has been connected to the national grid. "So far, commercial production has been started from four of the six units," he said. "The remaining two units will start commercial production within the next 15 days."

DOLKHA, August 19: The administration and the chief district officer (CDO) along with various groups have obstructed the foreign contractor company, which spent 11 years in Nepal to build the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project (UTHP), from returning home.

In 2020, two national pride projects – Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project and Gautam Buddha International Airport project – are set to be completed. The construction of some other promising projects will kick-off. Authorities will have to expedite works for some projects amid their looming deadlines. Even the current pace of the progress of few development projects will bring them closer toward the completion. Here are 20 development projects that will be watched closely in the year 2020.​

KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is planning to add new transformers as a strategy to increase the power consumption. The NEA came up with such plan to maintain the electrical load to 50% to let the consumers use as much electricity as they need.
