Rs 600 million distributed to project-affected so far

BARA, Sept 5: Second International Airport (SIA) Project Office has said that the process of distributing compensation for land and houses to be acquired for the project is at its last leg. Similarly, perimeter fencing and river training works are also nearing completion, according to the project office.

KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that there was no alternative to building the Second International Airport (SIA) at Nijgadh, as proposed by the government, despite scorn from the environmental activists that building the airport will destroy trees.
