CHITWAN, March 19: Three male rhinos have been shifted to the eastern part of the Chitwan National Park (CNP) from the western areas.

CHITWAN, Feb 6: Eleven rhinos have been found dead in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and surrounding areas in the current Fiscal Year (FY). Of these, two were killed by poachers while nine died due to natural causes, said Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the CNP Information Officer.

The two rhinos were killed by electrocution on the banks of the Narayani River in Sitapur, Madhyabindu Municipality-2, Nawalpur on January 20. The three people who were arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on May 26 on the charge of killing the rhinos were made public by the Chitwan National Park Office, Kasara, on Wednesday.

CHITWAN, May 11: Two rhinos have been found dead in the Chitwan National Park (CNP). The dead rhinos were found in different places during two days.

CHITWAN, May 4: A total of 220 rhinos died in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and its vicinity in the past eight years. The CNP shared that among the casualties, 64 rhinos died of aging and falling off cliff; and 19 died in morass and floods.

CHITWAN, Jan 21: A group of smugglers has killed two rhinos on the banks of the Narayani River that flows through the Chitwan National Park (CNP).

CHITWAN, April 18: Altogether 30 rhinos have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) and adjoining area in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Of them, 26 died of natural causes while four were killed by poachers.

A total of 39 rhinos died in the current fiscal year due to some preventable and natural causes and five of them in the recent past two months. This is the highest number of rhino's death from natural causes in a year in the country's history after the armed conflict in the country when poachers had killed 37 rhinos in 2058 BS.

CHITWAN, April 16: A rhinoceros has been found dead at Chisapani area inside the Chitwan National Park here on Wednesday. The male rhino was found dead in a swamp at the core area of the Park.

17 rhinos die in CNP in past six months

CHITWAN, Jan 31: Although the country is celebrating no rhino poaching year for the past three consecutive years, 17 rhinos have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) in the past six months, officials said.

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Six different Lalitpur Patriots bowlers picked up a wicket each in their quest to bundle Rhinos out for 111 runs and win the eliminator by 27 runs. They have qualified for the second qualifier. Lalitpur will face Bhairahawa Gladiators tomorrow in a virtual semi-final. The winner of that match will tussle against Biratnagar Warriors in the final of EPL 2017 on 30th December.

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Indian batsman Sunny Patel’s late innings cameo has propelled Lalitpur Patriots to 138/5 in the 20 overs. Patel smashed two boundaries and three sixes in his 38 runs came from 26 deliveries and help Patriots recover from 76/5 in the 14th over.

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Indian opening batsman Jaykishan Kolsawala smashed his first fifty to seal a spot for Lalitpur Patriots in the Eliminator of EPL 2017. Gladiators bundle out Rhinos for 108

After being 2 for 68 at halfway mark, Pokhara Rhinos collapsed to 108 all out in the 19th over. Rhinos lost last eight wickets for 40 runs. It was an all-round bowling effort from Bhairahawa Gladiators bowlers as Dipesh Shrestha, skipper Sharad Vesawkar, and Krishna Karki picked up two wickets each.

A 33 runs partnership between skipper Shakti Gauchan and Pakistani batsman Israrullah sealed the second win in the third match by six wickets for Pokhara Rhinos.

A disciplined all-round bowling performance from Pokhara Rhinos after winning the toss and electing to bowl has restricted Kathmandu Kings XI for 98 runs in their 20 overs picking up eight wickets.

Paras Khadka’s three wickets and good all-round fielding effort by Biratnagar Warriors have restricted Pokhara Rhinos to 122 runs in 20 overs.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Peshawar opener Israrullah notched up six sixes in his blistering innings of 61 runs from 52 deliveries to give Pokhara Rhinos first win of the tournament by 10 wickets.  He had also taken four wickets earlier in the match.
