National ID Card mandatory for real estate transactions from 2025

KATHMANDU, June 28: Starting January 14, 2025, the government has mandated the use of national identity cards for all real estate transactions, replacing the previous requirement of a citizenship certificate.

PANCHTHAR, May 12: Suman Lama of Phidim was genuinely excited after he received the much-hyped national Identity card some seven months ago. However, Lama now feels that the card has no use at all.
