KATHMANDU, March 8: The government has officially recognized an additional 2,674 individuals as martyrs. According to the decision announced by the government, the list of additional martyrs has been published in the Nepal Gazette.

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The Martyrs’ Week, during which the nation pays rich tributes to the known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the country and the people and their freedom, has begun from Wednesday.

LAHAN, Jan 20: The Madesh Movement crossed a decade on Friday. The Madhes-based parties have been marking this day as Martrys' Day since the last 11 years. During the movement which broke out in 2007 demanding rights and fair treatment for the Madhesi people, Ramesh Mahato lost his life while fighting for the cause to become the first martyr of the movement.

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has asked the government to extend the martyrs list and declare at least 16 others, who died in the Madhes movement last year, as martyrs.
