KATHMANDU, August 28: The Madan Puraskar Guthi has announced the winners of Madan Puraskar and Jagadamba-Shree prizes of the year 2078 BS.

The Madan Puraskar Guthi organized a virtual ‘Madan Puraskar and Jagdambashree Puraskar Ceremony’ on Sunday. The annual award ceremony has been completed online for the first time. The Guthi broadcasted the ceremony live online, due to the pandemic.

Winner of prestigious ‘Madan Puraskar 2076 BS’, author Amar Neupane launched his new book ‘Gulabi Umer’ on Saturday. Litterateur Krishna Dharabasi, actress Keki Adhikari and author Neupane jointly unveiled the book amid the book launch event at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaldi.

"For me writing is summing up the highs and lows of the society, and presenting them to the mass for a better change. Writing is also my companion, that has never left my side despite the odds," said Neelam Karki Niharika, a profound literary figure in Nepali literature.

A poet, novelist and teacher, Rajan Mukarung is an eloquent intellectual. Originally from the hilly district of Bhojpur, his early success in writing won him numerous accolades. Awarded with Kirat Puraskar Samman for novel ‘Hechhakupa’, Pahichan Puraskar for ‘Ferido Saundarya’ and Madan Puraskar for ‘Damini Bhir’ in 2012, he is currently dedicated to the publishing his next volume, ‘Ayogya’  soon this year.

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: The General assembly of Madan Puraskar Guthi, organized on Monday, has decided to award Shanta Das Manandhar with the Jagadamba-Shree for his contributions in promoting, developing, and assisting children literature from the past five years. Similarly, Nilam Karki Niharika’s ‘Yogmaya’ will be felicitated with Madan Puraskar 2074.
