KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Police have arrested four people on the charge of gang-raping a girl in Kailali. The four accused who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl were arrested by the District Police Office, Kailali, on Sunday morning.

TIKAPUR, Dec 23: India's paramilitary force, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which had obstructed the construction of a river embankment in Kailali, has backed off from the region. It also said that the construction was not obstructed intentionally.

KAILALI, Aug 29: In 2017, there were 29 tuberculosis cases in Masuriya, a village in Kailali district. The following year, this number reached 40. The new TB patients have been found in the same localities where cases were seen some 18 years ago. Masuriya Health Post is alarmed at the spurt in TB cases within such a small population.
MARTADI, July 19: Several bridges over the Karnali and the Budhiganga rivers, the two major rivers in Bajura district, are at high risk due to erosion. The bridge each at Taprisera, Dwari, Tipada and Rapak over the Budhiganga river are at risk.
TIKAPUR, July 18: At a press conference organized on Tuesday, Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun stated that Rani Jamara Kulariya Irrigation Project based in the far-western district of Kailali has come into operation. But reports from the field refute the minister's claim.

KAILALI, July 3: Police have arrested three officials of Attariya Chamber of Commerce and Industry including chamber president Ashok Devkota on Wednesday. Devkota and two others were arrested during a press meet held at the chamber’s auditorium.
It’s over two weeks since the windstorm that struck at a speed of 95 kilometers per hour and lasted nearly two hours killed two persons and left over a hundred injured in various districts of Far-west.
DHANGADHI, June 24: Life has yet to return to normalcy in the windstorm affected areas of Kailali district even after over two weeks since the disaster. Many of storm victims whose homes were damaged by the storm are living in makeshift shelters while some others are living in their damaged houses. Even though several organizations have reached out to the victims with aid, it has not been adequate, victims say.
LAMKI, June 16: The Janaki rural municipality of Kailali has begun a training to make sanitary pads for women in the rural municipality. The training has been organised to promote menstrual hygiene and also help them save money in the purchase of sanitary pads.
DHANGADHI, June 16: It has been more than a week since Santoshi Dhami, a 10th grader at Sharada Secondary School, Jugeda, has not been able to go to school as the ravaging storm on June 6 blew her books, notebooks and school uniform.
DHANGADHI, June 8: A storm on Thursday evening killed two people and injured 99 others in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts. The storm felled trees, electricity poles and tore down the tin and thatch roofs of many houses. Large areas in the districts are without power while several roads that were blocked by felled trees have reopened Friday.
