China, U.S. hold trade talks on implementation of signed phase one deal

WASHINGTON, May 8: Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer held a phone call late on Thursday in which they spoke about U.S.-China trade, the U.S. government said in a statement.

WASHINGTON, May 8: Chinese Vice Premier Liu He goes to Washington for trade talks on Thursday and Friday, setting up a last-ditch bid for progress toward a deal that would avoid a sharp increase in tariffs on Chinese goods ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump.
