KATHMANDU, May 25: The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) office in Nepal started a donation program on May 23 called “Emergency Community Oxygen Station” in Chhetrapati, ward 17 of Kathmandu. The program started as an initiative to provide medical supplies and equipment to ward 17 and ward 19 in Kathmandu district to prevent and control the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
According to the chief of the District Health Office, Tulsi Prasad Guragai, as many as 84 people tested positive for COVID-19 in tests conducted on Tuesday at Dhankuta Hospital. Among the infected, 50 are males while 34 are females.

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) in line with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) increased the prices of all petroleum products except cooking gas from Sunday night. The corporation has been criticized for raising prices during the pandemic.

Actor Satish Kaul, who was once a sought-after actor of Punjabi cinema, also extensively worked in Bollywood and was best identified as Lord Indra of BR Chopra's Mahabharat, died on Saturday because of COVID-19 related complications, reported news agency PTI. Satish Kaul was 74.
