BANKE/JUMLA, Sept 27: Youths of Banke and Jumla districts on Sunday chanted the slogan 'back off India' to protest against India's interference in the internal affairs of Nepal.

Hundreds of students marched from Ganeshman Chowk in a rally that convened at BP Chowk in Nepalgunj, where they organized a corner meet. In the meet, the participants warned India not to interfere in the internal affairs of Nepal. They also emphasized India to play the role of a true neighbor."We will continue to fight against India's interference even on empty stomachs," said a demonstrator.

The youths claimed that India was trying to suppress Nepal by supporting the disgruntled Madhesi and Tharu communities, who have openly expressed their dissatisfaction toward the promulgation of the new constitution.

Similar demonstration led by students affiliated to Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) was held in Jumla district. The participants urged India to resume the supply of goods and petroleum products from India.

Umesh Neupane, chairman of Nepal Revolutionary Students' Union in Jumla said that the current actions of India will not be tolerated by Nepalis at all. Shivalal Dangi, district chairman of NWPP, informed that the blockade by India is against international law.

Meanwhile, youths submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer Dipendra Raj Poudel of Banke. In the memorandum, the participants have requested Indian Prime Minister Narenra Modi to address the current issues and help Nepal restore peace and prosperity at the earliest.
