KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Through its Asia-Pacific Mountain Network (APMN), the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) has been engaging youth and building their capacity to bring about positive changes in the society.

Partnering with the Consortium for Capacity Building (CCB) at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Small Earth Nepal (SEN), ICIMOD is now bringing together graduates from the region to develop their knowledge on green economy at the second Asia-Pacific youth forum to be held in Kathmandu from September 25 to 29, 2012.[break]

The forum is set to consist of 40 young participants from over 15 countries who are involved in sustainability issues. The program will include capacity building and knowledge exchange sessions, leadership exercises, and excursions to nearby environmental projects.

Youths from the Asia-Pacific region who are between the ages of 18 and 30 and hold an academic or a professional degree in related fields, especially those who have experiences in leadership in the green economy sector, are encouraged to apply for the forum.

The application deadline is set for August 17, 2012. For more information, email in at youthmedia@icimod.org with copy to gradyouth@gmail.com.
