SALLERI, September 2: A 23-year-old youth from Tapting area of Solududhkunda municipality – 10 here faces trial for illegal possession of firearms.
A case was filed on Friday under Arms and Ammunition Act against Pasang Tamang accused of hiding a domestic gun, according to police.
Pasang had been living as a tenant at Mahji Tamang's residence, who is his father – in – law by relation. Responding to a tip off police raided Pasang's rented room on August 21 and confiscated a gun and cartridges.
Pasang, who was on the run since the raid, was arrested on August 31, said Inspector Pradyumna Adhikari. Pasang also stands accused of not submitting the weapon when police administration issued a public notice calling for submission of illegal arms. The police are keeping a tight eye on those hiding illegal arms here in the district. RSS
