Yoga introduced me to myself: Manisha Koirala

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, actress Manisha Koirala recalled how yoga changed her life in a talk show organized at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat, on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, actress ManishaKoirala recalled how yoga changed her life in a talk show organized at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat, on Wednesday.


Addressing the talk show organized jointly by the Indian Embassy and the Indian Women’s Association, Koirala said, “Yoga has introduced me to myself. I came to know something so pure that the nature has given us.”

Responding to a question from the audience, she also recalled the days when she fought against cancer and how yoga eased her journey.


Saying that “Yoga is the way to a fulfilled life”, she encouraged all to practice yoga regularly. She also asked them to think upon three important questions, “Who am I”, “What do I really want” and “How can I serve” as they progress towards a healthier life.


Apart from the Q&A session, Koirala also initiated a yoga session where she showcased some simple breathing exercises where the audience participated enthusiastically.


She was received by the Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, who also spoke high of Koirala as a human being as well as of yoga as a healthy practice in life, in his address.


“At present around a billion of people are practicing yoga, I believe, there will be a time where all seven billion of us will adopt yoga as a part of our life,” Koirala expressed her remarks.
