The airline provided Rs 331,590 each to Helpless Children Welfare Mission, Sewa Kendra Leprosy Relief, Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre and Women for Human Rights.
Helpless Children Welfare Mission based in Itahari supports in the rehabilitation of helpless and orphan children through better livelihood and quality education. Similarly, Sewa Kendra Leprosy Relief provides free treatment to leprosy with leprosy and is working for leprosy elimination. Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre has been providing care and training to patients having spinal injuries. Likewise, Women for Human Rights works with and for single women to uplift their social and economic status.
“As a sign of respect to their cause, we have been contributing whatever we can from our side to support and encourage them to keep up with the good work," said Pradeep Bikram Shah, the director of sales and marketing department, Yeti Airlines.
The airline has also provided financial support to other social organizations like Tewa, OCCED, Maiti Nepal, Nepal Leprosy Relief and Nepal Glaucoma Eye Clinic in the past.
As a part of its social service, Yeti Airlines is providing 10 percent cash discount to all the Nepalese citizens, 25 percent cash discount to senior citizens and 50 percent cash discount to differently-abled people on round trips to Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi and Janakpur.
Home and Décor Expo from Sept 3
Direction Nepal is organizing a major expo entitled “Home and Décor 2010” and “Nepal Security Expo 2010” from September 3 to 4 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall.
The third annual mega event is expected to be participated by all leading furniture and furnishing retailers, interior designers, interior decorators, architects and consultants, according to organizers.
Sweety Rajkarnikar, program coordinator, told media persons on Wednesday that Home and Decor Expo is diligently conceptualized to attract a varied set of buyer groups. She further told the groups include general buyers, architects, interior designers/decorators, distributors, and wholesalers, hospitals, restaurants and general consumers.
Direction Nepal believes that the expo will act as a viable tool for the exhibitors to give their brand an optimum exposure in highly efficient manner. The event will showcase the most diverse range of new and innovative products and services.
According to the organizers, the expo will feature over 70 exhibitors showcasing quality home and décor products and services. Around 20 exhibitors along with active involvement of Nepal Police are expected to participate in the Nepal Security Expo 2010.
Laxmi Bank to remit from UK
Nepalis living in UK can remit money to Nepal with the help of Laxmi Bank and Mobile Union. "Nepalis can remit money online to their beneficiaries who can collect cash through Laxmi Bank´s payment network of more than 400 agents across the country," the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement further added that the amount can directly be transferred to the saving account at any branch of Laxmi Bank. The bank handles inward remittance of around $100 annually, according to the statement.
