Police arrested Amar Yadav and another youth of Udaypurghurmi charging them of killing Sanjay Gupta of Ghadiharba in Birgunj. Unidentified assailants killed Gupta on March 26.
Saying that both the youths were innocent, their relatives and locals pressed the authorities for their immediate release. To exert pressure on the district administration, they have laid siege to the Gandak Chowk.
Vehicles heading to Kathmandu and other destinations have been stuck along the highway due to the obstructions since morning.
Earlier, the kin of the deceased Gupta had shut down markets in Birgunj for five days demanding that police bring the culprits to book.
