KATHMANDU, June 23: Yemen will take on Bangladesh in its bid to qualify for the finals of AFC U-22 Championship at the Dasharath Stadium on Sunday, the last day of group D qualifiers.

Uzbekistan will lock horns against group leaders Jordan in the second match of the day. Jordan has already qualified for the finals with three victories from as many matches. Either Uzbekistan or Yemen will be the second team to secure the berth for the final round. [break]

A victory or a draw will seal Uzbekistan´s place for the final whatever the outcome of the first match between Bangladesh and Yemen. Victory will send Uzbekistan to the top of the group while a draw will see it advance as the runner up for the finals behind Jordan. Uzbekistan currently has 7 points from three matches.

Yemen has four points and a victory over Bangladesh will keep it as contender for the final round until outcome of the second match. If Yemen beats Bangladesh and Uzbekistan loses to Jordan, the second team to qualify from the group will be decided through goal difference. Uzbekistan has plus three goals and Yemen minus three goals.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh at the bottom of table without a single point in its kitty will be eying at least a point before wrapping up its campaign. Nepal with three points has already crashed out of the five team group qualifiers.
