A group of YCL cadres attacked Raj Bahadur Rokaya, Satal Bogati and Takka Rokya of Phukot with Khukuri knives and iron rods on Tuesday night over a minor dispute, said Kalikot police chief DSP Hom Nath Niraula. Raj has sustained injuries to his head. [break]
Atom BC, Kalikot-in charge of the UCPN (Maoist), said YCL cadres just retaliated after a group of locals led by Tek Bahadur Shahi tried to attack them.
“They tried to beat up our friends, accusing us of torturing them and confiscating their properties during the war,” BC said. “Our friends just defended themselves.”
