KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Participants from as many as seven countries took part in the 7th International Conference on ‘Global Peace through Emotional Literacy in Education and Psychology of Management’ held on Saturday at Prime College, Khusibhu.
According to Sujan Shrestha, one of the facilitators at the conference, the conference provided an opportunity to 29 academicians from Nepal, Ethiopia, China, UK, Bangladesh, India and Malaysia to present their papers in various themes related to the conference. Similarly, more than 120 participants from seven countries witnessed the paper presentations of their interests during the conference.
The conference was organized by Global Peace Foundation, World Without Anger and Prime College. Chair of the event, Dr Dean Van Leuven, highlighted the importance of emotional literacy in the present times. According to WWA President Desh Mardan Basnet, it’s essential to make the world anger-free and emotionally stable to make the world better place to live in.

Likewise, one of the presenters, Kripa Sigdel, highlighted the necessity of studying emotional intelligence and emotional regulation with the advancement of technology in the 21st century. She stated that while there used to be individual bruises due to emotional vulnerability in the past, there have been mass shootings and killings due to lack of emotional management technique in the present world.
The conference also conferred various honors to the facilitators as well as experts. The Dean of International Peace Prize for this year was awarded to Prof Dr Shishir Subba for his continuous handwork and dedication to the field of Academic Psychology. The prize carried a purse of Rs 25,000 that was sponsored by Gorkha Finance.
WWA 7th International Conference also included the researches of emotional intelligence and positive psychology that are related to the optimistic self, well-being, happiness, creativity and giftedness. Emotional intelligence is the upshot of twenty first century’s emerging field of clinical psychology. The papers which were presented will be published in the WWA Journal Volume 7 soon.
