KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated US presidential nominee Donald Trump on winning the 2024 US elections as the results were announced on November 6, 2024.


Modi said that he was looking forward to “renewing our collaboration” from Trump’s previous term. The Republican had served as President of the US from 2016 to 2020, according to news agencies.


“Heartiest congratulations my friend Donald Trump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity,” wrote Modi on X.


President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Donald Trump on his expected victory in the US presidential election, voicing hopes for "strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States."


"Congratulations to Donald Trump on his impressive election victory!" Zelensky said on X.


"I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-US strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine," Zelensky wrote.

"I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the 'peace through strength' approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer."


Keir Starmer has congratulated Donald Trump on his “historic election victory” and said that “as the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defense of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise”.


The British prime minister said the UK-US special relationship would “continue to prosper” after Trump’s “historic election victory”.


Starmer said: “Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead. As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defense of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.


“From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.”


Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara congratulated Donald and Melania Trump on the former US president’s apparent election victory.


“Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America,” Netanyahu posted on the social media platform X.


The Israeli premier stated, “This is a huge victory!”


French President Emmanuel Macron and other EU leaders congratulated Donald Trump after he claimed victory in Tuesday's US presidential election, saying they were ready to work together but would defend Europe's interests.


Macron's message on X was not as enthusiastic as the ones by Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban and far-right leaders across Europe, who hurried to congratulate Trump early on Wednesday, even before he claimed victory.


"Congratulations, President Donald Trump. Ready to work together as we did for four years," Macron said on X. "With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity."


Macron added in another message on X that he had talked with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz - whose coalition faces make-or-break talks this week - to ensure they will work together for a stronger, more united Europe that defends its interests and values.


Former US President Trump was cruising towards winning the White House race in one of the greatest political comebacks in American history. According to projections, Trump was all set to receive 270 electoral college votes blocking Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ chance to win the polls.
