KATHMANDU, June 5: Nepal Army Institution of Health Science in coordination with Laxmi Bank organized a tree plantation program on the occasion of 'World Environment Day' on Monday.
A total of 700 saplings of different species were planted by officials, faculty members and students on the college premises, according to a statement issued on Monday.
The technical expertise to the plantation was provided by National Trust for Nature Conservation and the District Forestry Office, Kathmandu.
“As an aspirer to be a green company, Laxmi Bank has promoted environmentally friendly, 'paperless and commute free banking' habits by encouraging customers to adopt digital channels such as cards, Internet and mobile phones.
To support the cause, it became the first bank to introduce complete Internet banking services in 2002 and mobile money in 2009 in Nepal,” the bank said in the statement.
