The Committee highlighted that Nepali women have endured significant patriarchal oppression for a long time, emphasizing that the progress achieved through various struggles and sociopolitical movements should not be compromised.

Additionally, they expressed concern over the declining representation of women in politics due to electoral alliances.

The Committee condemned the efforts against women's empowerment, stating that they are unacceptable. Chair Bimala Chaulgain noted that the entire Nepali society is alarmed by the proposal to amend the Criminal Code, 2074 BS, to allow polygamy.
