Woman electrocuted while charging mobile

LAMJUNG, Aug 3: A woman was electrocuted while charging her mobile phone at Uttarkanya VDC-4 of the district on Monday night.



The mobile blasted off due to a sudden flow of ´high voltage´ current, killing Shesh Kumari Gurung,36, of Bagumagaun of the VDC, police said.



Due to high voltage flow of power, the transformer in the village was also damaged while power meter box, wires and television sets in the local residents´ home were burnt. High voltage current has been creating problems for the people of Lamjung for the past few days.



The problem could be a result of some fault in the transformer, Technical Chief of the Lamjung Power Users´ Committee, Harish Chandra Acharya said.
