Woman dies in LPG cylinder explosion

BANIYANI, Jan 6: A woman died and 12 others were injured while dousing a fire that engulfed a house at Mechinagar Municipality-7, Peepalchowk in Jhapa on Wednesday.

BANIYANI, Jan 6: A woman died and 12 others were injured while dousing a fire that engulfed a house at Mechinagar Municipality-7, Peepalchowk in Jhapa on Wednesday.


Sharada Rajbanshi, 45, of Mechinagar-8 died after a LPG cylinder gas exploded while she tried to extinguish fire at Keshav Pathak’s house, according to spokesperson for the District Police Office, DSP Basanta Pathak. The fire ravaged the house of Keshab Pathak of Mechinagar-7.

Critically injured, Sharada died on the way to Dhulabari for treatment. As many as 12 local residents were injured while working together to douse the fire.


The fire was brought under control with the help of fire engines of the municipality, police and locals at 10:20 PM yesterday.
