Windies beat New Zealand in Super Over

PALLEKELE, Oct 1: West Indies knocked New Zealand out of the World Twenty20 Monday in a dramatic Super Over after their group one match at Pallekele stadium ended in a tie.



Both teams were locked at 139 after 40 overs in the Super Eights game, forcing the Super Over decider. New Zealand scored 17 off their six balls but the West Indies knocked the target off with a ball to spare.[break]



The defeat eliminated New Zealand after three defeats in as many matches. West Indies must wait for the result of England´s game against Sri Lanka later on Monday, which will decide the semi-final places. West Indies beat New Zealand in Super Over.
