Wife killed, husband severely injured in morning walk tragedy

JANAKPUR, July 10; A couple taking a morning walk were rammed by a bus from behind killing the wife and severely injuring the husband in the wee hours today.

Shambu Sah, 45 and his wife Pramila Sah, 42, of Janakpur Sub Metropolis – 9 were taking a morning walk when a bus coming from Dhalkebar hit them at a section located between the Pidari and Ramananda intersections at 4:30 am.

The wife was killed on the spot while her husband Shambu sustained critical injuries with a broken left leg.

As Shambu's treatment is not possible at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital, he will be airlifted to Kathmandu on a helicopter, said Inspector Gunraj Budhathoki of District Police Office, Dhanusha. The police have launched a manhunt for the absconding driver and the bus. RSS
